We have a few open positions for OBD Calibration Engineers at the Paccar Technical Center. We are looking for (BS or MS)- degreed engineers with engine (Gas or Diesel) or
aftertreatment knowledge.
The job includes engine dynamometer and vehicle calibration work with the ultimate goal of demonstrating compliance to federal emissions laws.
We have the following sub-groups within our department: Engine: Air management (Turbo, EGR, NOx Control), Misfire, Coolant Performance,
Aftertreatment: (DOC / DPF / SCR / Urea Injection). The purpose of these diagnostics is to ensure emissions compliance by detecting a failed or failing component
within the system that would result in exceeding the OBD emissions limit.
Once we have developed our calibrations to detect a failed component at STP conditions, we perform offsite testing in Arizona, Colorado and northern Canada to test the
environmental limits that the trucks operate within.
We currently have 3 former FSAE members in our group- all would attest that the work is challenging and fast paced- hence why I am reaching out to this forum.
We are looking for Engineers that are interested in the roles mentioned above with a strong understanding of engine operation (gas or diesel) and a drive to continually improve.
We are located in Mount Vernon WA- about 20 miles south of Bellingham WA.
