Hello,

I am Mohamed Hashim, the powertrain team leader in ZAgazig University Racing Team, Egypt.
Firstly there was no RPM signal on tuner studio for MS2 so i disassembled the VR ckp sensor wiring and i tested its resistance and voltage by AVO meter,
Resistance was 0.486 K ohm, the range of voltage did not exceed 0.2 mv as crankshaft was rotating and this is a very low value compared with 0.7 V mentioned in engine manual.
you can watch the test from this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LH0h70wuwLE
Is that a damaged CKP sensor? Or there is another problem with it ?

Hi Mohamed,

I assume the ignition pulse generator is a induction type as on the CBR600R. (This was our engine)
In this case you can't meassure the 0.7 Volt with your AVO meter in DC mode as it is the peak value of the pulse only. It might get a bit better in AC mode, however to get the real values you need an oscilloscope, or some test electronic which is referred to in the workshop manual.

I hope this helps.

Timo
