I am looking for stub shaft with the tulip tripod housings all as one piece. for the qdf7zr quaife diff. im trying to avoid using a seperated housing and stub axle configuration, just for the sake of weight.

anyone know where i can get these stub shafts?

That is the Ford Feista/Escort Quaife diff as ours was right?

Will RCV does FSAE kit which is good value however their tripod is for the Honda not the Ford so you might need to ask them to custom make the tripods for you.

We use the same diff with the stub axle configuration from taylor race and I think they also made stub shaft with tulip tripod for this diff.

what do you think of that diff compared what you've used before.
how you done any modifications on it?
timing, weight shaving, etc...?

It's our first car so we didn't have experience with other diff.
The Drexler is probably the best diff but cost a lot. The torsen is cheaper but you need to make your housing.
We are a small team so the quaife was a good alternative because the diff is complete. We didn't have enough member to make modification.
The disadvantage of the quaife are the weight and different length between the right and left axle.

we're facing the exact similar problem.
Though we are at it, and sure to find an answer like we did for every other problem...
But who wouldn't like to have a little lead on the issue....

We make 3 different stub axles for the Quaife Honda grease diff being it is the more popular diff over the Ford
And two configurations for our TRE diff.

Axle lengths will not effect the performance of the Quaife because it is an ATB diff. That plus the fact you will most likely induce wheel spin way before axle wind up.

Yeah, good chap. I think that they should list it on their website. I didn't know that there was 2 different diffs and ended with resplining the housings.

Could someone please enlighten me on
1. What factors are considered while designin a knuckle/stub axle
2. Which manufacturing processes are used to manufacture atub/axles ?

A stub axle should link your diff/spool to a CV joint (unless you're running a solid axle). It's usually just a piece turned on a lathe with splines milled or broached on the diff end.
If you're accommodating Tripod joints, you can buy stub shafts directly from Taylor Race or RCV Performance; you could also design them yourself and examine how to shave excess weight.
Keep in mind that this component might be seeing the highest stresses of your entire driveline.
