Tire Development Engineers work in a team environment to develop new products as well as improvements to existing products.
Performance attributes such as vehicle ride and handling, traction in dry, wet or winter conditions, wear, durability, and high speed are all considered in the design of a tire.
Development activities include designing prototypes using CAE tools, managing test programs to evaluate the performance attributes listed above, analyze test results and presenting conclusions.
Responsibilities
Working with Manufacturing to industrialize new products,
Assisting Marketing in defining product requirements.
Providing product support to all areas of the organization through the lifecycle of the product.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree or Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of tire development/tire manufacturing experience.
Project management experience preferred
High quality analytical skills and the ability to work with limited direction.
Team oriented with the ability to promote the successful advancement of the group.
