Tire Development Engineers work in a team environment to develop new commercial truck tire products as well as improvements to existing products. Tire performance parameters such as wear, durability, and rolling resistance are all considered in the design of a truck tire. Development activities include designing prototypes using CAE tools, managing test programs to evaluate the performance parameters listed above, analyzing test results and presenting conclusions and recommendations.
Responsibilities:
Assist Marketing to define customer product requirements
Work with Manufacturing and Asia Technical Center to industrialize new products (may involve travel to China)
Regularly assess competitive performance of products
Provide product support to all areas of the organization through the lifecycle of the product
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Math, or Sciences
5 years of tire engineering experience, truck tire development experience preferred
