The Product Design Engineer will create, design and develop tread patterns and sidewall styles for new tire product introductions to the North American market. New ideas will be incorporated into tread patterns for many tire applications and segments including High Performance, Passenger Touring, SUV, Light Truck, Winter Tires and Commercial Truck. The Product Design Engineer will be engaged throughout the product development process including competitive analysis, idea creation, concept design and design development. The successful candidate will collaborate effectively and extensively with other department personnel, and other functional area members from Tire Development, Marketing, Mold Design and Tire Manufacturing. Responsibilities include designing 3D CAD models using CREO, preparing complete set of drawings including multiple views and details, independently resolve most questions on models and drawings, working on multiple projects concurrently, and maintaining accuracy and attention to detail on all completed work.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Candidate should have the ability to conceptualize in 3D images. Experience using 3D CAD software is preferred.
