for various industries, including the automotive sector. PE has extensive experience in all aspects of control system design, integration, testing, production and life cycle management.
Description: The Embedded Firmware/Software Engineer designs, tests and validates firmware and PC based software for use within electronic embedded control units.
This position will support existing products, as well as develop new products to meet customer needs and requirements. Please note, the company will not sponsor a Visa for this position.
Job Expectations & Requirements:
A Bachelor or Associate degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent technical field. Mechanical and Electrical Engineers with some programming ability, and candidates with a Masters degree may also qualify.
Working knowledge and experience in Embedded C/C++, Visual Basic and Windows Operating Systems is required.
Working knowledge and experience in Code Warrior and Imagecraft Compiler is a plus.
Experience with some of the following microprocessors: TI MSP430, Freescale S12 and S12x, Microchip PIC32.
Experience with automotive control systems is required (experience does not necessarily have to be in a professional capacity).
Self-starter with strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
Strong interpersonal skills and able to also work well within a team environment.
Job Duties:
Design, document, implement, test and validate embedded system firmware and PC based software for both new and existing electronic control products.
Collaborate with Electrical Design Engineers and Mechanical Engineers to produce a fully integrated product that will meet customer needs and requirements.
Develop, execute and document verification test procedures.
Create technical documentation for new and revised code.
Provide systems related technical support to existing and prospective customers.
