Would there be any draw back in using a 2100 CFM puller fan for a radiator? I was thinking of purchasing a 800 CFM fan but the 2100 CFM fan has a 5.7 amp draw and the 800 CFM fan has a 6.5 amp draw so I figured why not purchase the higher CFM fan and get more heat dissipation? We are most likely mounting the radiator with an open air type setting instead of sealed inside an air pod.

Be sure not to forget that each fan should have a curve of CFM versus Intake Pressure.

Can you justify the increase in weight for the increase in flow?

I've been looking at low profile 10" fans that flow around 1000CFM, which is considerably more than our previous fans but are only slightly heavier (less than a pound).

Man, what size is this fan that flows 2100 cfm?

My bad, they are both 10" diameter fans

As PnBG said, you'll have to find out what your entrance pressure is. I'm sure that it probably draws 6.5A @ 0" of H2O, but it might draw up to 8-10A depending on your pressure.

Also, the fan I'm looking at weights right around 2.5-3lb and flows 1040CFM @ 0" H2O w/ 5-6A current draw. I'd imagine yours would be quite a bit heavier...

does anyone know of a good cheap place to purchase a 10inch 1000 CFM fan??

SPAL has some that aren't priced too bad...Some internet searching should result in some good buys.

We got our 12" SPAL from SPAL USA for only about 70 bucks. They were happy to hook us up.

to OP, if you're referring to the Perma-cool fan listed at summitracing.com, then i would double check the specs on the fan. they dont match the ones on perma-cool's website.

Yes I noticed that there was a discrepancy with the values on summitracing and perma cool
