View Full Version : Problem With Purchase Of Electric Motor Controllers

Hi,

We are developing our first e.v this year (and the first ever in our country). Our electrical motors sub-team has chosen motors and controllers which suit our needs (we are going for dual rear drive using 2xEMRAX 207 with Unitek controllers @ 400V).

All was great until we tried to issue the order, the reply from Unitek was that we are under an EMBARGO (it was written in big red letters :( ) and so we are unable to purchase these controllers from Germany.

Although we are trying to figure out why and what we can do to overcome this issue, we need to work on other channels and look for other solutions.

My question is, does anyone has experience with other controllers that ran smoothly with EMRAX 207 at those voltages?

Will be happy to hear any other good ideas...

Thanks,
Tomer.

Hello Tomer,
I can't find any Information about an Embargo from Germany to Israel. This PDF (http://www.ausfuhrkontrolle.info/ausfuhrkontrolle/de/embargos/uebersicht/uebersicht_laender_bezogene_embargos.pdf) from this official page (http://www.ausfuhrkontrolle.info/ausfuhrkontrolle/de/embargos/) doesn't list Israel. Maybe the Company got something wrong? You could also contact the BAFA directly to ask questions about this specific product.
We are using a dSpace microautobox and I once heard something about it beeing often used in Military equibment and therefore there are Special regulations. Don't know if this is true though.

Best regards
Max

Thanks Max!
That's interesting, I also heard something about military and nuclear development equipment.
I will send an e-mail to BAFA, maybe they can give us an answer.

Still, anyone have any alternatives for controlling this motor?
