In an effort to expand its NASCAR Sprint Cup Series program, Furniture Row Racing currently has Race Engineering positions available. The Race Engineer works closely with the Crew Chief, Driver, and other Race Engineers to assist in optimizing vehicle performance and race strategy. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a team-oriented personality, and the ability to maintain focus while under the deadlines and pressure involved with auto racing.
Typical responsibilities include:
-Pre and Post event engineering as well as race strategy planning and reporting
-Analysis of track data from Pi and Motec data systems at tests and McLaren ECU data at race events
-Operation of Matlab-based vehicle simulation tools at all test and race events
-Evaluation of aerodynamic data collected from wind tunnels and 3D surface scanning
-Create test plans and analyze data from in-house pull-down and 8-post shaker rigs
-Assist in design, prototyping, and manufacture of race car components. Communicate with machine shop concerning the manufacture of components (CNC, FDM, DMLS)
Furniture Row Racing’s headquarters are located in Denver, Colorado, USA. With the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop, Denver is a flourishing city full of urban sophistication and outdoor adventure. This position is based in Denver, and also requires extensive travel to race and testing events across the USA. Applicants should have an engineering degree and have outstanding communication and analytical skills. Background and/or experience in motorsports is also strongly desired.
