Hello,

Just so I dont get a message saying: "...and you are???"

My name is Omar and I am part of Ravens Racing in Ottawa, Ontario. I am constructing the wiring harness this year for our IC car, running a Yamaha WR250R.

My question is in regards to where wire's are allowed, the ASK A RULES QUESTION keeps spitting back an error to me so sorry if this seems stupid. I would like to run wires outside of the firewall hidden underneath the body panels. The rules as far as I see do not mention it.

Yay or Nay?

We had it that way on our only ever tubular spaceframe car back in 2008, and it was OK back then (even for FSG). Haven't checked it since though!

Okahiel,
For an IC engined car, there are no rules on where wiring can or cannot go, other than A1.3 "Good Engineering Practices". So don't run wires close to the exhaust or where they could get damaged by being snagged underneath the car or by the driver getting in and out of the cockpit.
