Hi,
We are a new team and we would like to know whether this kind of triangulation is allowed.
This was done as the engine was protruding outwards from one side.
Thanks in advance

T3.5.5 If a bent tube is used anywhere in the primary structure, other than the front and main roll hoops, an
additional tube must be attached to support it. The attachment point must be the position along the
tube where it deviates farthest from a straight line connecting both ends. The support tube must have
the same diameter and thickness as the bent tube. The support tube must terminate at a node of the
chassis
T3.13.5 The Main Hoop braces must be straight, i.e. without any bends.
Your tubes are technically main hoop bracing supports so clear of 3.13.5 but 3.5.5 don't clear 3.5.5.
This is just at a glance of the rules. Reread the secion in the rules concerning the chassis to validate your chassis.
Best people to ask are the rules commitee as to the legality if it 's unclear in the rules.
As an aside putting an unsupported kink in a tube sort of shoots its stiffness in the face.
Finally, next question is going to be what's your name and what university do you go to?. Best would be to put a signature on the forums. Also, before asking this kind of question, reading the rules is your best bet if you don't want to get unpleasant answers on the forum
