Development Engineer, Daytona Prototype Calibrator


• Become a valued team member within the Engine R&D organization, providing input and support to the group and the entire ECR organization.
• Specialize in supporting the 2012 ECR Daytona Prototype program, including:
o Working directly with Lease Team at and away from track.
o Short and Long term improvements to package at all levels.
o Engine calibration on dynamometers and at the track.
o Engine mechanical support at track.
o Assist with Building and dressing of DP engines at the shop.
• Attend Grand-Am races as necessary to provide trackside support
o 12 races and 3-6 tests a year
• Generate constructive relationships with lease customers and ECR’s suppliers
• Assist Shop Foreman with building-specific tasks relating to fuel injection including facility upgrades, maintenance, calibration, and safety.
• May be asked to provide EFI track support in late 2011 and early 2012 at Cup tests.
• Exhibit leadership with a positive attitude and high motivation.
• Due to part time schedule of Grand-Am racing, employee will be asked to complete additional tasks during the week based on their skill sets, which may include:
o Dyno and/or Spintron operation
o Data collection on test cells
o Fabrication
o Engineering (drawing, data analysis, test reports, various projects)
o Some work may be for other series that ECR supports

Qualifications:
• Minimum 1 year calibration experience, Bosch or McLaren preferred
• Minimum 1 year working at race shop with engines
• Desire someone with hands on knowledge of GM’s LS series of engines
• Must have general knowledge of all engine parts from oil pan to throttle body
• Must have great mechanical skills

We have 1 to 2 positions to fill for the job description. We are looking to for new employees to start in the next 2-6 weeks as available. We feel that entry level engineers from FSAE would fill this job very well and this would be a great way to get into the organization, but some engine calibration experience either with your team or at a professional level is desired.

I forgot to add this job is in Welcome, NC. Unfortunately due to being an entry level position, ECR won't be able to hire anyone without US citizenship.

Most weeks will be 40 shop hours. You'd get a day off during the week following travel weekends.

Salary is dependent on experience and education.
