SCCA-SOLO invites college and university teams that are registered for the FSAE West 2008 Competition to attend an autocross Practice Event that will be held at California Speedway on Saturday, 10 May 2008.

Participation will give a student formula team the opportunity to get a formula car tech inspected as well as to "wring out" a car and give drivers experience on a "hot" course. SCCA-SOLO Dynamic Event volunteer tech inspection and track worker team leads will be organizing and training their team members during the Practice, as well. Teams that run a formula car in the Practice Event on Saturday may also run in the SOLO Championship on Sunday. To participate, the team captain or faculty sponsor must contact the SOLO Chairperson, Renee Angel (flippedover@aol.com), before close of the day, 26 April 2008.

The registration gate will open at 6:30 a.m. The first run-group will enter the course at 9:00 a.m., and the course will close at ~4:30 p.m. Student teams are expected to help set up the course and to be track workers along with the rest of the SOLO run group to which they are assigned during the day. Each formula car must go through tech inspection before it can enter the course.

For insurance and liability reasons, each student driver who is not an SCCA member must buy a $15 temporary membership that will be valid for both 10 and 11 May. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
