Hi there and thanks for nay help.
2003 Honda CBR FI
My question is regarding the wiring of the master switch, I'm not to clear on what is meant by the note at the end of the rules that reads...
Teams are reminded that any alternator field wire must also be disabled by this switch to prevent any possible feedback through the field coil circuit.
I was just going to wire the switch after the battery and before any fuse box/relays/junction boxes?

You just have to make sure that the charging circuit is also switched off by the master switch, so the car will not keep running off of the generator.
On a side note, the fan we used on our car last year would keep the car running for a few seconds by turning into a generator after the kill switch had been thrown into the off position. The momentum of the fan blades keep it sinning for just a few seconds, and generating twelve volts for about two seconds.
I don't remember how the ECE guys fixed it..... I think they ended up running the fan through a relay.

Yes, you activate the alternator & starter circuits via a relay, so as long as your main power is through the master switch before any relays/fuse box/etc, then you are good to go.
Running the fan through a relay ensures no feedback, since your power is completely cut by the relay when it no longer receives current from the fuse box.

You can buy a master switch that has two low current switches ganged with the high current switch. You wire it so that when the master switch is thrown open, the alternator main output wire is connected to ground though a 3 ohm 10 watt resistor. This eliminates the voltage surge that you get when you take the load off of a running alternator.
