Awesome. Nighttime racing is far more of a specticle than daytime racing. The week before FSAE-A normally results in several teams testing at a hire kart track called Silhouette till about 10pm under lights, sharing the track with hire karts and race karts. It is far more spectacular than during the day, the cars gleem (for want of a better term) under the spotlights, sparks and glowing exhausts stand out, the cars look faster and everything is significantly more spectacular. If I was asked if any dynamic part of FSAE-A was run at night or day my answer would defintely be nighttime.

Ah silhouette. It is ammusing that all the things I love about night races, Glowing brake disks, Exhaust & flames, dont really exist on the electric cars. Regardless, night races are by far a more spectacular event for the spectators and i'm keen to see how it turns out.
The car definetly feels faster under lights too.

Why shouldn't there be glowing brake discs?
A night race would be hard to do, if there was the noise of the combustion cars http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hi Tobias,
can you share more information when the endurance will start, which running order and when the autocross will take place? Will FSE have their own slots for acceleration and skidpad as well? I would guess that FSE autocross could be during FSAE acceleration and skidpad.
I like the idea of having all Sunday for watching the other cars and clearing our pit. The only fear is that we don't have enough time between autocross and endurance for maintenance and repairs (hope not).

Hi Thomas,
I remember that you attended the workshop at BEG in Abstatt where we told you, that there may only be 6 hours between autocross and endurance. However the slides are still available in the workshop section, just have another look at them. I will not post the link since it will take ages for the post to show up then.
The FSE cars will be integrated in the FSG acceleration and skidpad and running together with the combustion cars.
There will be a dedicated slot at the beginning of the autocross for FSE cars.
The Endurance will start after the design finals on saturday, but this is preliminary. We will start, as always, with the slowest cars first.
Regards,
Tobias
