For those interested...

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and MazdaSpeed have been gracious enough to host an event during this weekend's American Le Mans Series event for any and all local teams interested in learning more about project management, running a race team, finding sponsorship, or simply get into contact with other teams and/or companies in the region. Here are details on the event:

What: A gathering of motorsports professionals and FSAE and SAE Baja Students

When: Thursday, September 15th -- Gather up @ 4:00 pm. Informal Q&A -- Wander the paddock. Gather back up in the Mazda suite after the final test session of the day which ends at 7:30pm for more discussion.

Where: Meet in the Skip Barber Classroom at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca (second floor)

Who: Kate Gundlach - Star Mazda
Ashley Shoum - Michelin Motorsports
Justin Jang - Dark Swan Racing

Cost: NONE. The "test day" was chose as it is a non-spectator day. Most all of the cars will be testing that day, but there are no tickets required.

Please cascade/forward this note to any/all students in the area who are planning to attend the ALMS weekend. There may be other times (beyond Thursday) to talk, but the challenge is in finding a time when you can get everyone free, and have some degree of quietness such that we are not all shouting above the engines.

We hope to see as many of you there as we can!

Thanks Kirk... although I still call the track "Laguna Seca" every now and then. Also, we're probably more well known for this.
