Works fine for me. Mind you that all that data is now obsolete I think, as the D1385, D1386, D2509 etc are their old constructions which are being replaced by the D2692 (hotness).

Yep what he said. The consortium should have the budget to be testing some new tires pretty soon. The new goodyears might be a good choice.

The test schedule AFAIK is largely based on TIRF's availability, and the time availability of the volunteers running the program. Im thinkin for Round 3 the D2692 is a must, and rain tire testing would be wicked.

Yeah considering the amount of use our rain tires got in detroit, rain tire test would really be nice.

I concur. I am really interested in seeing if GY's subjective comments show up in the data.

Has anyone been able to order the D2692s? They are on strike or something and haven't been able to get ahold of the fellow in charge of the FSAE tires.

Testing rain tires would be a waste. I'm pretty sure they'd only test the tires at one rain setting, which isn't going to tell us too much about the tires. What if one tire is a better damp tire and the other is a better standing water tire? The data won't be able to tell us this so people will jump to the wrong conclusion. Also, how many teams do alot of testing in the wet? How many teams have developed a full wet set up? If you haven't/don't do this, having tire data is going to be pretty useless.

Despite the 'coolness' factor, the money is much better spent testing new dry tires.

Nihal - its tough getting in contact with them as the steelworkers union is still on strike and the engineers are downstairs making slicks. Keep pinging them with emails.

What new dry tires would you want tested, Ben? The 2692 is the only real new development as far as I'm aware.

With $20,000 in the bank you'd hope some extensive testing could be done if it was in the wet. Maybe one batch of testing with a low amount of water where the intermediates would do well, and one in higher amounts of water for full open-tread wets.

I think it would be pretty valuable stuff and would go a long way towards developing a full wet, tuned setup. it is something I intend on doing this year. I'd be very interested in seeing comparison data for ultimate grip levels, load and camber sensitivity, diference in lateral force and longitudinal slip stiffnesses, and variation of peak force slip angle with load.

Which Goodyear compound was already tested by the TTC?

I'd really like to see the data for the tires one size wider then the 7's. We run the 20x7.5x13 hoosiers for the rear of our car and they work well. We have no data about them and have to make extrapolations from existing data which doesn't work well at all.

It would also be nice to see data on some of the radial tires currently being used. Like the Avon radials used by Penn State and the Michelin radials (Not the F Renault or FBMW ones) used by Auburn if I'm not mistaken.

With all of the different possible tests it will be hard to please everyone.

The D1385 and D2509 constructions were tested, in the R065 (rain) compound.

For whatever reason the files have always been sensitive to which browser is being used, version of adobe, etc... For anyone else having trouble I would update your browser and adobe reader as a first step. If that doesn't work just email the address on the page and ask for the pages you need.
