Hello, been looking into possibly switching to a high-density polystyrene based attenuator. Looking for some info on the idea, charts etc. would be super helpful.

From most of the data I've seen EPS isn't tough enough to fulfill the requirements. Not only that, but the crush force varies much more than that of an aluminum or other honeycomb.

If you do a search, there's a LOT of info posted on the relative merits of Al honeycomb, maybe some kevlar stuff, and various foams.

I think the absorption capacity of Polystyrene is to low because it's flexible (rebound), but rigid polyurethane offer good characteristic for us.

thanks for the info/advice, ill definetly look into that ridgid polyurethane
