Where did you get that/how did you create the solid model?

Nice... so looks like a 3D scan, am I right? We've been needing a good model or the R6 engine for a while and I think we're going to drop the cash to 3D scan it next year.

Damn you, I was tryin to make everyone think that we did it by hand. One of the guys on my team works at the air force base here and they have a 3d camera. Works good except the filesize is HUGE and will crash most computer lab computers without serious massaging. If you do scan one, I would use duct tape and tape off some of the nooks and crannys to reduce the filesize and put them back in later.

I can't help anyone out with the model, because this is technically our capstone project, which is based towards the 2006 car. You may be able to PM rtrey and see if he can help you out. He's the chief engineer on our team. I'm not sure if the president of the team is on the board or not. You can go to I think http://www.coe.ou.edu/sae/ maybe and search for the contact information.

Holy crap, that is so sweet. Our engine model looks like a couple of lego blocks http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif.

That is tight man, why don't you sell it?? If i was you I would let everybody know and make some money 'cause it never hurts to have extra money for your team and it is not like you have an advantage over other teams by having that, you know.

Anyways, cool stuff.

MGizzle, our team already has plenty of money and I already got in trouble sort of because I referred another guy to the higher up's on the team to see if they might want to sell it or whatever. So i can't even talk of selling/trading/giving away, whatever unfortunately.

Well I was just assuming. I have never heard one way or another about the budget of the team as a whole.
