2005 FSAE Rulebook
Section 3.3.4.1 Main and Front Hoops – General Requirements
Sub-section (D) A 4.5 mm (0.18 inch) inspection hole must be drilled in a non-critical
location of both the Main Hoop and the Front Hoop to allow verification of
wall thickness.
This means drill a .18 inch hole anywhere in your roll hoop that won't weaken the structure. The judges then take a set of calipers(verniers if you will) and take a depth measurement through this hole.
