For anyone willing to share, what diameter rear sprocket are you using with how many teeth? How many teeth on your front? Just brain-storming right now and I'm curious as to what sizes are commercially available and what sizes teams are making themselves.
Cheers

The size of the sprocket is going to be very dependant on the engine you select.
If memory serves we used a 56 tooth sprocket on our R6 powered car. We bought the blank from Sprocket Specialists and machined the bolt pattern and webbing. The Sprocket we used for our WR426 car was much, much smaller - maybe 20-something teeth.

Just wondering, I was looking at some pictures of your car and was wondering what drove you to choose that sprocket diameter? Did you re-gear the primary/secondary to use that diameter?

Which car? The 2004 car? I don't choose it but I think they geared the car to 80mph (fast enough for big SCCA courses with 3-4 gears available for competition). Not positive about how they came to the final number but I could find out.

If its not too much trouble i'd be interested to find out how they came up with that size (2004 solid axle car)....
BTW a 55t is approx. = 12" diameter

It was sized for top speed, probably around 80 mph. The dramatic change in size from the previous year was due to the gearing of the WR 426. Due to lack of funds and testing problems, we did not have a chance to experiment with other sizes.
