I am using Denso 580 coils that I bought from motec. I have the option of bolting them to my fuel rail for good packaging. Is there any safety reason for not doing this? Is there any way some sort of current is developed in the magnet base itself?

Well, there's only one way to find out!

Seriously though, even if it did spark to the rail, the fuel in the rail won't burn because there's no oxygen.

Stupid question, but not from the safety perspective:

Will having the coils in close proximity to the injectors cause any "crosstalk" that might mess up your injector operation?????

The injector is connected to a power output which in general is impervious to these kind of induced signals. It's different for sensor signals, so don't strap ignition modules on top of crank and cam sensors.
