I've been doing some espionage, and came up with a prime example of German Engineering (PDF). (http://students.washington.edu/dennyt/fsae/special_bolts.pdf)
I've heard they're planning to add a letter "e" to the word fastner in order to create fastener...

Sorry about the spelling error. I work for the Robert Bosch Corporation as an Engineering Intern and yes that PDF is a great example. I wonder if I could purchase one just for fun.
