Back from 3 weeks of intensive testing, we unveiled what we call our "testing livery". She'll stay this way until a week before competition when paint and 'competition livery' goes on. But what you see is our 2004 car and bodywork, just not the paint scheme.

only some 40 odd days left!

Cheers!

Vinh,
Congratulations. That looks good.

Is your radiator mounted horizontally under the fan?
The main roll hoop looks like you are right on the edge of the minimum bend radius – or maybe the other cars are just throwing me off.

I think the other cars are throwin you off!

The rad is mounted at approx 30 degrees from the horizontal. The shroud seals that and the fan mounts at almost horizontal.

looking good. i see yall also have the problem of a large hole in your body due to suspension / pedal adjustment. ours is mostly due to our ARB blades, but we'll just cover that up with some blocking plates on the inside.

regardless, looks good, and i look forward to this year's competition. how far do yall have to travel? it takes us 22 hrs from college station, texas.

The 'holes' will be covered up by competition with aluminum closeouts. We too the ARBs out for the launch so there's a smaller 'hole' above the suspension forward pickup point. But for pedal adjustment, the closeouts will completely seal off the footwell. We travel 4 hours from Toronto.

Cheers

it's coming in at about 450 - we have to do an official weight with dry fuel tank .. but weight estimates are pretty much on target - 15-20 lb drop over 2003.

Hey Vihnh, congrats for this year car!!
Keep up the good work!!

We are launching our 2004 car this wednesday in Montreal on a morning show!!! We have for the first time an incredible media coverage in Montreal with the launch appoching, we were on tv on several channel and live on a morning show yesterday. Patrick has done an amazing job designing our 04 chassis by ameliorating the torsional stiffness of it by 160% (amazing, well, according to ANSYS modelisation!!). The car was yesterday on its wheel, but we were not able to test it out. So check up our website this week, I will post images of the car when the launch is done.

We have not yet roled out the car because we are still having problems with our machining shop who are taking an eternity machining our steering column. This is the only thing taking us off track and burning rubber!!!

Can wait to see us, UofT and other Canadians teams battling in Detroit and England!!

Jean,

Just wondering where you picked up Cole as a sponsor??! Are they shipping your car free of charge?

To answer your question Vihn, Cole and GPS Logistics in England is sponsoring us , ETS and UQTR for a certain amount of the price of the shipping of the 3 cars. Since we are three teams from Quebec this year going to England, they have decided to sponsors the 3 of us. They are giving us a 40 ft long container to put the 3 cars and all the stuff (and extra members who would like to make the trip http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif )

Saw the article about your launch in the toronto star... You guys are lucky to have an $82,640 budget! I think we would have trouble finding a way to spend all that.

vinHonda

That figure is a total of our product and service sponsorship along with our liquid funds. We literally have about $50,000 in liquid cash, and a LOT of product/service sponsorship that totals $30,000. For example, a shipping crate to ship the car to the UK is donated; worth $6000.

Cheers,

Vinh

Drooool....

Nate if you don't know how to spend cash you shouldn't be in racing! http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Taking a trip to the UK w/ 9 team members paid for takes a toll on your budget. Trust me, we are a team always in search of cash and sponsors.
