Find the Tach wire from the stock ecu and hook it up...assuming you have the stock ecu.

Didn't get any results doing that. I had assumed that would be the best way to do it.

Something isn't right then. The Honda ECU outputs a signal that is compatible with most tachs.

You may have an input impedance mismatch between the tach and the ECU. Try looking at the tach signal with a scope with the tach connected and not connected. You should see a +Vbatt square wave with the tach connected to the ECU. If it is less than Vbatt, the tach is pulling the ECU signal down.
