Has anyone else had excessive tripod failures? We have had three tripods fail in the past month, which has destroyed three tripod housings as well. It's kind of weird because we haven't had any fail before this.

If these in fact are our tri pods.I would like to get some info from you to see what is causing your failures.

We've used their tripods for some time now with no issues...

We've broken one or two due to our own stupidity but other than that they're pretty durable.

We broke 1/3rd of one, but never noticed while driving! When we took it apart we saw that the circlip at the top of one of three balls had broken, all the needle bearings had scattered, and the 'ball' had come off the tripod leg. Most likely happened cause our halfshaft was machined too short. But anyway, the bi-pod worked pretty well.

We have had no tripod problems.

The Taylor tripods themselves are pretty durable. We started using the Taylor tripods this year, have pounded the crap out of them, and had zero problems.

Is there a problem with your tripod housings (improper fit), are you using the correct grease, do you have any parts crashing during suspension travel?

We have been using taylor tripods for roughly 3 years now and have very few problems with them.

My question for you is how are you using the tripods. Post a picture if you can of your rear suspension and also the failed tripod. Are you making sure that you are not binding the tripod as the suspension moves up and down, also are you sure you are not pulling or pushing the tripod out of its housing (think of it moving back and forth along the axis of the axle shaft).

I would definatly talk with Scott Young from Taylor, and see what he can help you with.

Goodluck..
