We OK State are doing out body and come to find out we have about 5 gallons of gel coat that a girl ordered last year we have no idea why she would have ordered 5 gallons. Is there any thing we can do with the gel coat other than mold or finishing?

Cant you save it for next year? Or you can try selling it to a local composite shop although, you might have to sell it less than at what you bought it.

Patrick,
Short answer NO.
It is meant for one use only.

The purchasing quantity may have been a minimum order volume.

If it has been opened it may not last another year so selling it off is probably your best option or you may be able to trade / bargain with it for something you do need.

It may be any business building in fibreglass may buy it a to help you out but expect the price offered to be low.

Pete.

Mix it with 1 gallon of catalyst and start a massive big fire.

Put it into smaller containers and deep freeze them. Then defrost it as needed. (hint: don't store food in the same freezer, unless you like the taste of gel coat)

This also, sometimes, works with catalyzed resin and epoxies mixed with hardener. It depends in the amount you're trying to freeze.

I've got 20lt drums of winter promoted vinyl ester that have been in the deep freeze for nearly 2 years.
