I have A. Graham Bell's 1998 publishing of "Four-Stroke Performance Tuning"(Second Ed.) beside me as I type this. Its previous publishing was in 1996 and its first publishing was in 1981. It has a Repsol-Honda racing motorcycle and a silver Escort rally or touring car on the cover.

What do you need to know?

Or perhaps "Modern Engine Tuning" by the same author which was published in 1997. However, "Four-Stroke Performance Tuning" is the more common book, are you sure about the dates? Also, what are the titles? Or is the point that you don't know the titles?

Gordon P. Blair's "Design and Simulation of Four-Stroke Engines" is my personal favorite for the stated subject.
