I'm trying to find the torsional stiffness of the rear frame in ansys and it keeps exploding. I have the frame modeled with beam188 and the suspension links with link180, which I think is where the problem is because when I have the suspension also as beam188 it works fine (except for the part where the a-arms bend). Anyone know why this happens?

Jaya, it sounds like you are having a constraint problem with the model. Check the DOF at the joints with the DLIST command.
