It's a really great job, you learn about the ESP system, drive some cool cars and most of the engineers are ex-fsae. I'm finishing off my year there and it's been a great year.
There are also a number of other engineering internships available

Robert Bosch Australia - Chassis Systems
Student Engineers
Vehicle Applications
Bosch Australia is recognised as a dynamic and performance oriented workplace, with a focus on innovative and quality products, combined with superior customer commitment. In Australia our core business is the engineering and manufacturing of automotive products and industrial technology for both the local and international market, as well as the trading of consumer products.
The Chassis System Control division designs and develops automotive components and systems needed to make vehicles safer – from monitoring vehicle stability to electronic braking management.
The Chassis Systems Control Software and Applications group is responsible for brake-control system development of Antilock Braking Systems (ABS); Traction Control Systems (TCS); and Electronic Stability Program (ESP). The group develops, calibrates and evaluates these systems for local and international vehicle programs.
As part of our Industry Based Learning program, we are seeking 2 highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who wish to perform a broad range of engineering tasks for a full time period of up to 12 months (commencing in July 2008) as part of the Chassis Systems Control team. Students must have completed at least two years of their Mechanical Engineering (or similar) degree, with the intention to complete their degree after finalisation of their work placement.
The successful students will:
"¢ Support the vehicle application engineers to implement ABS/TCS/ESP control systems into vehicles;
"¢ Support application programs to customer and RBAU requirements and
"¢ Assist in project management of application programs.
"¢ Update development vehicles with application equipment.
"¢ Support vehicle testing for vehicle application engineers
Knowledge of vehicle testing procedures, strong driving and vehicle evaluation skills and a current vehicle licence is required of all potential candidates. Applicants should be proficient in their use of MS Office Suite. The successful applicants will be team players and with excellent organisational skills in order to prioritise tasks. A strong attention to detail, a dynamic approach to task orientation and the ability to communicate with people at all levels of the business will be beneficial to the successful candidates. A committed and pro-active attitude towards your work is another essential attribute for this role. Naturally, an interest in the automotive industry is important!
Attach a covering letter stating why you want an IBL placement at Bosch. A detailed resume coupled with academic results is also required.
Bosch will offer the successful students a fun and challenging 12 month placement, including a competitive student salary, regular Rostered Days Off, a great working environment and the chance to be a part of a team contributing to the safety of Australian motorists.
