Guys
Does any team use intermediate shaft between axle shafts and differential. If yes, then how r they mounted and how r they supported? Also does it lead to friction losses in CV joint?

Can anyone suggest me some other innovative idea in this repect.

Maybe I'm missing something, but why would you do this? You generally want the driveshafts as long as possible to keep the angular displacement at a minimum.

I take it you mean the input shafts that going into the differential ? As you then mount your CV/Tripod to these, which your driveshaft then connects to.

ketan i think i know what you are talking about. we use an intermediate shaft to mate the drive shafts with the torsen diff splines. they are shafts with the two types of splines at the two ends. the shafts are just long enough to have the required length of splines on both sides.

This is another option:

I am needing these intermediates becoz, i have acquired driveshafts from a car, and not modifying the cv joints or cv shaft. Therefore, we were thinking of instead of making internal splines on the cv side of intermediate, we were thinking of drilling a hole or a tap in the the cv shaft and then mating the intermediate with it. This way we wont be needoing to make a internal splne on the intermediate and wont be using the splines of the cv shaft.

Again should this intermediate or the cv shaft has to be mounted too, to the chassis via bearoings. Becoz, if not, then nothing prevents the intermediate mated with the differential with splines to come out. Therefore is this motion recommended?? Or a mount has to be there on both the sides on intermediate or cv shaft.

Again, I think this intermediates has to be out of contact with the casing of the differential where they are entering, since they would be rotating at different speeds then the casing.
So do some clearance has to left out there??

Again, going by current design i am needing to use four mounts in the rear , 2 on differential and 2 on tintermediate or cv shaft? Four mounts four bearings double the weight.
