Mounting position of rack

hey guys, we are using floor mounted rack. Is that correct that if we mount rack at its centre then we will have much free play(7 degree or more) than mounting rack @its ends.
if we want to mount rack at its ends then what are you using ....cross rods at floor or any thing else????

That can be true most of he time. It will depend on what the tierod loads are and what the sideview and top view tierod angles are. Also, it's not 'freeplay' its a compliance, and a significant nonlinear one at that. Don't feel bad, though, some of the most 'legendary' cars have large amounts of this compliance because its the only way that they can get an understeering vehicle without using different tires sizes front to rear. The trouble comes when tire Mz runs out as you approach max lat and you are stuck with a high gain, undriveable car. That also follows their reputation.
