Vehicle Dynamics sim software/Adams Car

Hello all,

This year our team is looking into using some type of vehicle dynamics simulation software (as we have not in the past). We have only simulated our suspension geometry through basic heave, pitch, roll, and steer maneuvers in OptimumK. We are considering Adams Car. Does anyone have any recommendations for software and/or know much about Adams Car and what it can do?

Before you maybe start looking in which software you want. Maybe you should ask what you want the software to do?

What kind of simulations to you plan to do? How do you plan to use these result in the design process?

I second that...

Adams won't do anything that you don't ask it to. Its absolutely not user friendly, quite full of bugs and quite time consuming to use. You need to be absolutely clear in telling it what to do because its not written like solidworks in that it will automatically fill in any gaps.

But it is extremely powerful at solving specific problems.

First off, what exactly is the problem with OptimumK??
