Hi,

As a UK University, having been out on a UK trade mission, organised by the MIA (Motorsport Industry Association) to North Carolina and Indianapolis, (and having visited many universities and colleges involved in motorsport over the 10-day period of this), coupled to our exhibiting at PRI last December in Orlando, there seems massive scope for (and huge interest in) a number of initiatives, as follows:

short (circa 10-day) US (and other international) student/academic motorsport exchange programme with the UK,

short (circa 10-day) US (and other international) student/academic motorsport exchange programme from the UK

1-year(?) internships for international students/academics, to provide international cross-fertilisation of ideas and exchange of best practice

We're hoping to develop long-term strategic relationships along the lines of the aforementioned, and would welcome comments as to the desirability/applicability of such initiatives.

Please email any comments/thoughts/insights/criticisms to me at:

mmeechan@brookes.ac.uk

Thanks

Mike

This seems like an update, which is fine, but just add another reply to your original post. Also, keep in mind that you can edit your posts, so if you mess up, you don't need to make another thread.

That 10 day thing sounds pretty intriguing, though.

10 times... Not by my reckoning. And anyway, some postings have relevancy in multiple forum categories. And SPAM. My understanding of SPAM is unsolicited email. The discussion thread is transparent (to most people) so if they *choose* to open it (and I emphasise carefully the rider *choose*) - as indeed over 2000+ have - the subject topic must sufficiently intrigue and pique forum members' interests for them to pursue it as a legitimate line of enquiry. Anyway, the take-up in direct email requests as a follow-on to what was posted has been phenomenal - I rest my case...

And I'll continue to pursue forum threads that postulate US-UK motorsport academic exchanges.

And remember - at the age of 50, you get the face you deserve...
