no.... definately a formula one engine... you dont supply the six cylinders(600cc)... and you have also suspension and drivetrain differential everything....even a rear wing and a brake light!!!

4 x 150cc, makes more sense as its one for each wheel.
Failing to get that, I would go for hover craft engine. Who needs wheels?

Most hover crafts i've seen don't have real good cornering g's or transients in any direction, but if you put the wheels back on and reversed the direction of the fans...

Ohh you're talking hovercraft. At first I thought you meant COT.
Except maybe transients into the wall. It does that pretty aggressively.
Pushrod v8's baby. That's what this FSAE series needs. And truck suspensions. Maybe Goodyear can work on making some 20x7-13's that 'splode.

Brookes were developing a V-twin using F1 pistons apparently.

Wow you guys did a good job at breaking in the new guy... he may never post again. lmao!
To be somewhat on topic that question doesn't work, it depends on what you can do with each engine, they each have their own benefits and each team will argue one way or another depending on what they use and have been successful with.
I have to agree that the v8 viper engine would be better than both. Forget the rest of the car, just strap the wheels right to the engine and call it a day, you won't be able to steer anyway so don't bother with steering linkages. You may want to put mount a confession booth to it and possibly a bible holder so people could say their prayers before hitting the track.

Since when did Vipers get V8s? http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
You guys are all wrong, however. Our current design utilizes tiny (but powerful!) gerbils to propel the car. We use no fuel during enduro, creating an asymptotic score for the event that leaves the rest of you with zeros for your fuel score. Cheero.
