Anyone here yet?
I'm flying in tomorrow morning. Looking forward to some concrete, warm weather, and a real practice track.

Glad to see UTA back with a combustion car! As long as the plug-and-play relationship between the YFZ450X/R engine and the PE-3 continues, that engine could soon become the new CBR600 of FSAE.
Let's get those thursday tweets rolling!

I'm curious if more seasoned participants can enlighten me on when/where results are posted during the competition. We're a first year team and are anxious to see how we did in the Static events today.
Thanks in advance for any advice/recommendations.

Texas A&M, UTA, U Washington, Kansas, McGill, Missouri S&T, Michigan State, and one other I did not quite catch among the screams of excitement in our pits.
That may be wrong, but that's my best guess of what they said. Apologies to those that I missed.
RIT had a front control arm/monocoque failure, so I've not seen much of them.
There may be weather on Saturday, we'll see. The courses are slightly adjusted from the PDF, so that's awesome for the teams that optimized around the course map.

Missouri S&T DOMINATED autocross by a second over the next car. RIT got their car fixed and ran just in time, getting 3rd in autocross. A&M got 5th, the fastest non-wing car, but trailing around 3 seconds behind S&T.
Kansas and S&T look close so far for the lead. We'll see how design finals and endurance/fuel are scored to settle it out.
Also, it is currently raining like crazy for the start of endurance. We'll see how long it lasts.

Husker Motorsports wants to thank all of the great competitors for coming out to Lincoln for the 2012 FSAE West competition. We had a great time (despite spending most the competition fixing the car) and are extremely proud to have passed tech (no less than four times!) and qualify for the autocross and endurance events. Had it not been for some tire spray affecting our electronics a bit, we are confident we could have completed the event. Certainly not as fast as the leaders, but a 50th place finish overall doesn't seem bad for a 1st year team.
A special shout out to Colorado State, USF, Texas A&M, Kansas and all the other teams for all of the help and advice. Thanks to everyone for the encouragement and kind words about our inaugural effort and we'll see you all next year!

I would also like to thank all those involved with setting up the event in Lincoln. I thought it was a very well run event at an amazing site. Having autocross and endurance set up when we arrived as well as having access to the practice track all week was extremely helpful.

Damn, if we actually put a real effort into the cost report we would have jumped up at least 10 places, haha.

Wow, endurance course looks fast, not surprising the winged cars did so well.

The competition was completed 3 days ago, printed results were posted at competition. So why haven't the results been posted on the official FSAE web site yet? Why do we have to rely on a cell phone photo from somebody's Facebook page? What's going on at SAE?

First off big congratulations to the UW Huskies for winning design. UW has not won design at a FSAE event since team #1 oh so long ago, current team is T23 and have gone to (24 competitions).
Anybody have notes or video of the design review?
Looking at the videos it looks like the courses were fast and slow, but not much in the middle. Props to the course designer for putting up many many pointer cones. In that open lot it would be hard to navigate otherwise.
Looks like S&T smoked autocross on those 13"s http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
What is the overall impressions of new West (mid-West) vs Old Cali West?

Although this was my first competition with a car, I have been to the previous three competitions on Fontana and I will have to say that Lincoln was a much better site to host the competition at.
I'm partial to dynamic events, so having auto-x and endurance courses representing a course that you'd actually find at a Solo2 event is a big plus, and rumor has it that next years courses will be even faster. All the California and Michigan courses have always seemed limited by space and designed to be very tight.
The Lincoln site also provides enough space for two practice courses, one being a mini auto-x course, which I thought was brilliant.

we're not complaining....4 hour drive vs the 30 http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
But really, it was a great venue. Nobody on our team had any problems whatsoever with the track. Static events were in a good location. The only real thing that we wish they would have done different is put the autox/enduro closer to the paddocks (we're being picky here alright?!) And there were the typical growing pains with training in new personnel, etc.
All in all, I heard a lot of positive feedback from it.

Results posted.
I like the addition of the "team information" page at the end of the results. Bravo to the officials for that.

Great event...Hats off to the SAE.
I really liked the event location, seemed like there was a lot more stuff around the area then Fontana. The actual paddock was nice and the pushes weren't really too bad. The practice track was a great addition.
Would love to see padock power as all the generators were annoying, but other than that it was a great experience.
Looking forward to next year.

This was the best FSAE competition I have attended, the practice track was great. For future years it would be good to see the tech inspections proceed a bit quicker, getting through 32 teams on the first day can really make competition hectic.
Im looking forward to future events at Lincoln.
