So as there is no topic about that yet, I'll start one.

2 days underway, today is the first day of dynamics. For everyone that's interested, here is the link for live timekeeping.

Pictures will be uploaded to the website during the week.

We're going to resume autocross for another hour. Had to stop early due to thunder, rain and heavy wind. The track is wet, but the storm has blown over.

Looks like Zurich v. munchen.

My guess for FSG: ETH Zurich v. Delft and Munchen v. "all other combustion combined"

But, as we saw at FSUK, efficiency can throw the game around!

For those who are there, what's the verdict on the AMG motor? KIT seems to be doing well with it.

Congrats to my good friends at Esslingen for their strong performance thus far! Best of luck tomorrow!

KIT is using their 4 cyl engine from last year, but Joanneum seems to be using the AMG engine.

Tristan, at FSG the combustion cars are protected from the electrics by seperate classes, so we won't see a large battle. Of course, we can unofficially compare them, but for the endurance there will probably be different strategic target speeds.

Congratulations to Zurich for their third acceleration win at the fourth Austrian competition. Good luck for the endurance everyone.

Regards
Thomas

That's why I mentioned them seperately. Still, there are over 70 combustion and 32 electric cars at FSG. I think we will see some good competition anyway

Anyways, waiting for the endurance at FSA (on the score board online).

TU München C 511,14
ETH Zürich E 495,50
GFR C 444,29
Bath C 435,47
HS Esslingen C 431,88
Akron C 426,77
Karlsruhe C 398,75

Top 10 with a very rough Endurance estimation:

TU München C 778,46
GFR C 769,29
ETH Zürich E 766,22
Bath C 733,48
HS Esslingen C 716,18
Akron C 662,02
U Erlangen-Nürnberg C 621,57
Karlsruhe C 608,79
U Stuttgart E 601,25
TU Graz C 587,09

So it should come down to Efficiency again, which could lead to Zürich winning the competition.

We dont know the Design Finals results, yet, so that might also decide the winner. I wasnt able to watch endurance laptimes live. Was AMZ also among the quickest cars on total time or just on their fastest lap?

I cant wait for the final results.

The new Efficiency scoring didn't give us the "normal push" for an Electric car.

2,3 liter of the GFR car while driving 2 seconds faster than everybody else, is just sick.

Congratulations to GFR for catching up the big difference!

Still, the first AutoX win for an Electric car in an combined class!

As I'm now at home and caught up some sleep here some of my impressions of the event.
The average performance of the teams was awesome. We had 24 Endurance finishers and only 9 DNFs! In the morning the Endurance track was still a little wet but around noon it was completely dry, so the first teams had a disadvantage there but we couldn't change this, we tried to get teams through the Endurance as fast as possible because the weather forecast predicted heavy rain in the afternoon. Fortunately it didn't start to rain before the end of Endurance.

I think in Autocross all teams got at least one run in dry conditions. Around five we had to stop the event due to a heavy thunderstorm (time keeping equipment got blown away...) Later we restarted the event in heavy rain, so there was no chance for the teams to improve their times. But a lot of teams used the chance to test their cars in wet conditions.

Overall I think it was an amazing event for everybody. And I'm really looking forward to FSG.

The Monash guys attended just to spectate. A really great event, congratulations to all the organisers and teams who competed. Great to see so many fast wing teams fighting it out.

We had one small problem though... We accidentally left a large grey suitcase full of clothes outside the shower block in the camping ground.

If any of the teams have taken it with them by accident can you please let me know ASAP, we may be able to drive to where it is and grab it.

I think the Russian guys from MAMI had a lot of their baggage there as well. If anyone has any contact details for them, or knows if they are staying in Germany before FSG and could let me know that would be great. There is a good chance they have it.

Thanks for your help!

Did you see the tweet from the Karlsruhe team. The Russians gave it to them. Karlsruhe is near Hockenheim so you can grab it while driving there.

Thanks Bemo.

I will contact them and go past for a visit to grab it. If someone from KA could give me a call on the number above to confirm that they will be there that would be awesome. Thanks

Scott

The organisers have got my pictures, but it looks like they haven't uploaded them yet. I'll get them on my facebook in a couple days if they don't put them on the website http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.
