We are looking at the possibility of fitting our inboard rear disc brake to a splined shaft running out of the diff.
Does anyone have experience with such a design?

We have been doing rear brakes on inner stub shafts for the past 2 years, and only modification that we made this year is that the rotors are floating this year. One thing to keep in mind, make sure u have a method of constraing the stub shafts axially other than the press fit of a bearing or obviously not the caliper itself. If you have any specific questions, fire away.

fsae racer,
Do you only use one caliper per rotor? If so, have you ever bent/warped a stub shaft from the bending moment created by the friction force at the caliper? Have you ever checked a stub shaft for warping after its been installed?
Do you mount your calipers to the frame?
