Hi,
My team is looking for wheel covers to bring to the comp to keep the tires fresh and clean.
we are running 13" diameter and 7" wide rims.
Any recommendations as to where to find them? how much did yours cost?
thanks for the help.

A few years ago one of our team leaders' girlfriends sewed some together for us. They were nice, had zippers and everything. Since then they've disappeared, and we've been using saran wrap until we can find someone else who can do it.

Thanks for the input.
saran wrap has been used in the past, but we are looking for something a little classier.
and we would prefer buying a set rather than making our own.

We used saran wrap in the past, but last year a team members girlfriend also sewed us some covers.
I swear I have seen them on various racing supplier sites but cannot seem to remember where now. I'd check pegasus or HRP world. I seem to recall that when I did see them they were relatively expensive for what they are.

Hmm...I sense...a market opportunity perhaps? http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Perhaps a team member's girlfriend could make a few and sell them?

We have Michelin wheel covers we bought in a Canadian tire (a common hardware store for the non-canadians out there). They are good for normal cars but we had to adjust them a little bit to fit our wheels and they were pretty cheap actually. I guess it would be possible to find some in any car shop that specializes in tires (might be more common here since we change tires at least twice a year).

Forget the girlfriend, I'll do it myself. How much are you guys willing to pay?

Modifying a set for "normal" tires sounds like the best option so far.
We would be willing to pay between 100-200$ for a set, depending on quality.
how does that sound Mikey?

Hmm, $200 is a bit rich for our blood this year...although I may be able to imagine paying up to $100. Hell for that price you might be able to get a local sewing shop to do the job, FWIW.

who needs tire covers when you can be like our suspension team and roll the tires through metal shavings, oil, brake fuild and what ever else is on the shop floor.
