Hi guys,

I have been searching around for information about the right dyno to use and where to purchase them in the UK, but to no avail. We use a Heenan and Froude eddy current dyno but it is as old as the hills and we are getting a lot of resonance during tuning which means that the majority of our ignition and fuel maps are inaccessible. The dyno requires reconditioning for which we have got a quote of £5000. As this is a substantial amount of money we feel we could spend this money on something that is designed more for our application, as this dyno was previously used to tune an old 1.6 Ford Escort engine. We use a Honda CBR600 engine and we are primarily investing in a dyno this year for the development of our turbocharged system which was designed last year. Does anyone have advice on the matter....help would be much appreciated.

Thanks guys,

Denis

DTS, Mustang, Land and Sea, Superflow, and many others are out there. I can only recommend DTS and Mustang though.

The land and sea is probably the cheapest (cost), and is fairly user friendly. The guys who own/run it arn't very nice when you ask questions that are answered in the manual, but the manual is pretty detailed. If you take the time to look it up, it's in there or ask around here for help once you have a question not covered.

Do a search for dyno and you should find a good thread from maybe 6 months ago with lots of discussion on dynos, cooling, ect.
