Hey everyone. We've wrapped up most of the engine repairs after the blown head gaskets at competition. The car is running about 90% now, which is better than it was for most of the event.

Just thought you guys might be interested in seeing what the car looks/sounds like with full power...

No, this isn't a smoke filled video like the infamous "Buckeye Burnout", but hopefully you still get a kick out of it!

Shouldn't he have a helmet and a harness on? No seriously, we got in trouble for having a pic of our baja team driving with a harness and no helmet in a promotional presentation. They wern't doing anything dangerous, just moving the car around the farm (aka research and development center), but the picture didn't show that. Just a warning about that first video...

Joel, what do you mean? I don't see any video? Wink

100% valid point. I really shouldn't have posted it, but just keep it hush hush and we'll be ok. We're actually really good about helmets/harnesses. Driving without a helmet is friggin torture with all those rocks to the face! I'm suprised I haven't cracked a face shield yet.

All of them are in car, and all of them were shot wearing helmets and harnesses!

Enjoy.

Really happy with it. After we replaced the head gaskets, it fired right up. It was popping and cracking a tad, so we played with the accel enrichments and a bit of the fuel maps and now its running perfectly.

Dan, Recognize you from the 951 world...saw your thread on 951forums.

Anyhew, What are you using for capturing the videos? They look great. I assume you guys fabbed a mount for a standard digicam?

Whats up Adrial, yea I see your posts on here from time to time too.

Nope, its a $25 CVS 'One-Time-Use' digital camcorder that I soldered a USB mini-B port to, reflashed, and then just slapped on to the rollbar with masking tape.

Very decent video for how cheap (and "disposable") they are. And I'm much more comfortable just taping it in wild places (bumper cam, helmet cam, whatever) since its so cheap.

Very nice solution, I emailed a link to this thread to the current team members.

If all cars had one of these mounted during competition I'm sure there would be a lot less confusion in terms of downed cones, etc.
