Ok, I dont know how many of you ahve to fight this war, but we have to battle the damn solar car for EVERYTHING. When we found our old car, their new car, and a traffic sign in the same room, it had to be done....

lol, she is a tad bit portly in most respects:

73" wb
60" track
798lb with me in it last autocross season

Designed and fab'd from late '02 to spring '05, once i became team leader in '06, i declined the chance to take that pile of crap to detroit to start from the ground....

Makes one hell of a local autocross amod car (with stock f4i itb's of course). Likes the big courses alot

I don't think the other SAE competitions realize how tough our task is relative to them, hell, the CE's think they have it tough with their Human powered vehicle and their concrete conoe...

Bloody CE's Wink . We were having a discussion with some of them the other day and they were saying how difficult it is and how some schools do a constant concrete pour for two full days. All I know is that when it comes close to competition time, there is always someone at our shop. Even Baja was there 24/7 for the couple weeks before East last year (and you can build a Baja car with $3.50 and trip to Tractor Supply Big Grin )

Yeah, our CE's here complain about our Formula Car team. It's not our fault that they put our exhaust vent next to their HVAC intake vent....

Haha! We are fortunate in that the space is ours through a private sponsorship and WE allow them the privilege of using our space.

I think we can all relate with the week before comp. Last year I worked all night and would go to the shop all day and then go back to work during the night...We have a day bed down at the shop for taking some power naps. Its unfortunate that someone screwed up our motor the week before comp last year after all of that.
