In light of the growing trend in FSAE to produce lighter weight, single cylinder cars, the Univ. of Akron FSAE program has opted to undertake this as a design goal for the '05 competition. Here is a pic of the new design concept:



As you can clearly see, we have also incorporated an areo package, which has previously never been done. You can see here how much lighter this car will be than the previous year's from the pic below:



The traditional steering wheel was also ditched in favor of the handel bar, based on driver feedback. And of course, safety is of the highest concern....so we always wear approved helmets, shoes, and racing suits when operating the new car.
