Didier,
You are no longer the only fsae driver on the registration list.

We've registered four of our drivers. We look forward to seeing you there and hope more fsae teams get involved.

Later,
Will

Can someone (preferably one of the organizers) please clarify section 4.1 of the rules please?

This has to do with the license that competitors must have.

It'd not be fun to drive 5 hours to go there only to find out the guys can't drive because of hte lack of club affliation / solo II license.

thanks

Hopefully Fred will confirm this as he sent me the e-mail...

Drivers will require a valid drivers license and a ASN affiliated club membership however the special Solo2/Autoslalom membership is NOT required.

If you are not part of a club then you can also purchase a temporary membership for $20 at the event.

Later,
Will

Will's post is corect ( I did send him the email Wink )

There is no competition licensed required, just a valid drivers license.

Membership to the an ASN affiliated club (it does not have to be solo 2 specific) is required, but it includes also SCCA affiliated clubs. For those without such membership, an event affiliation is available at a cost of 20$ and will be valid for the 3 days.

I would also like to remind you that you are welcomed to camp on the site itself(it is without shower/drinking water facilities, but the price is right 0$ Big Grin), most of the organisers and competitors will be camping at the track.

The main goal of the event is to have a blast !!!

I have some additional details for this weekend competition,

Friday the gates will open at 9:30 AM to enable people to set-up, Saturday and Sunday it will be before 7:00 AM.

For the competition, Saturday and Sunday, 4 runs will be run, 2 per waves. The field will be seperated in 3 groups. i.e. you do 2 runs, then when the next group is running, you do your pylon duty, when the 3rd group is running you have a break. We then start the whole process again after. There will be a snack bar for Saturday and Sunday, but none on Friday.

To any interested teams, a local club is holding a lapping day at the Sanair track on the 17th; I figure we should have enough break time to get a few laps in and it's a nice opportunity to try out a "real" road course.

Unfortunately the cost is 120$ but I should be able to get a discount if enough FSAE cars show up, and it's per car, not per driver.

Let me know if you're interested-

We're desperately looking for a kaizer rim, 13X6, 4X100 bolt pattern. If a team that is coming have one to lend us, it would be really appreciated.

If you have a pair of any rims of this size, it would be perfect too.

A teammate of mine broke one of our rims in testing, and the only thing we found so far are infinitely heavy Volkswagen steel rims, all rusted of course.

So if you can help us, we'd greatly appreciate it!!

Salut Fred,

will the results be posted on the CADL website?

We could not make it since the car is still on its way back from England but would like to see how FSAE have performed.

thanks

Here are the results:

Congrats to Ryerson and Waterloo for setting the overall FTDs on Saturday and Sunday...cool guys too. ÉNA had a really lousy weekend, it started with our usual intake leak problems (thus comforting me in my belief that K&N air filter oil truly is the corrosive spawn of Satan- let's just say it doesn't get along well with gelcoat or bonded plastic). After gunking up the intake with sealant the car ran decently and, looking only at first runs, Didier placed 4th on 7- so we could've been competitive. Unfortunately sometime on Saturday one of the ground wires came loose and the engine ran like crap for the rest of the competition; we found the problem just a few minutes after the last B-mod runs on Sunday afternoon...ah, the joys of FSAE cars.
