Our team thinks about entering the 2008 car in class 1/200 at FSUK next year but we don't know if then it has to fulfill the 2009 cockpit dimensions.
I couldn't find a paragraph for that in the 2009 rules but if so it nearly will not be possible for most teams to adapt their car, especially when using a monocoque.

We had to laminate a completely new one, relocate the engine and design a new intake system and redesign the ellipsoid wishbones which are directly integrated in the monococque via flexijoints. Financially this would not be possible for our current team as it has to built the 2009 car.

Has anybody thought about that, yet?

In the U.S. competition rules not fitting the cockpit opening and/or footbox template is a 35 point penalty from your design score, if that helps.

Don't know if it's the same as at FS. It's a lot of points to throw away, but at least the car could compete.

I would say, that if you brink the 2008 car, at the state that competed in the FSG08, you shouldn't bother about the 35 lost points...

Not many teams compete in Class1/200 and as i have compete in Class1/200 i would say that your car will be really fast for Class1/200...

Thanks. Your right, the 35 points don't matter, our only concern is that the car is allowed to start, the overall points are not of a big interest.
Our team brought an untested car the FSUK in 2007 and 2008 and ended in a catastrophe, although this year was very bad luck with a broken gearbox due to a manufacturing error during brake test.

We just want to give the outgoing "beta-family" some credit (the delta will be a completely different car) as the gamma was more a son of the beta and both couldn't run properly altough the FSUK layout is perfect for the 15 inch tires and the quite strong engine.
