Sorry guys, it doesn't look like we (Stuttgart) are going to partcipate. Most of our team is on holiday or is busy with perparing for the exams at that time. At least I haven't heard of any plans to go to DUTch Open.

I'm sure you gonna have fun anyway - and I'm expecting some cool pics!

Greetz,
Michael

Hey guys,

we at Karlsruhe are seriously thinking about coming. Four acceleration lanes sounds like a whole lot of fun Wink
We just have to make sure that enough people of our team will have time - I'll let you know.

Regards
Dennis

We'll be leaving tomorrow night from Stockholm, spend the night in the south of Sweden and continue our journey on Thursday morning. Arriving around dinner time in Delft all three of us.

Hoping to find a car to tow the trailer with before tomorrow afternoon.... Red Face

A quite decimated team of us (Darmstadt) will compete too, although many guys have to do a series of exams. (After a long period of time spent for our cars I found out that there's still an undone job called studying Roll Eyes ). Like Michael just said, bring some hot pics and leave some marks!

Small update:

The weather forecast is great. Temperatures between 23 and 27 degrees Celsius, about 10 % chance of rain, moderate winds. Seems like there will be a good amount of people present, we have come up with a challenging and rather varying track lay-out (tight at some spots due to safety constraints, wide open at others, where good cornering instinct is needed. Also the surface is different on the areas, needing constant adaptation from the drivers. Acceleration and skid-pad knock-out will be exciting. We have arranged for some demos and the party promises to be yet another great one!

CU in a few dozen of hours...

cheers!

Update from the DUTch Open:

The event has just started! Below you can find a nice youtube movie about all the cars starting at our DUT Racing workshop!

Tomorrow we're going to do the autocross and testing, and also our first car from 2001 (Betsie / DUT01) is going to give a nice demonstration!

The first Formula Student competition below sealevel, the DUTch Open, has begon. With the scrutineering done, all the cars are ready to take part in the event. As a starting sign all the cars started their engines together, inside the workplace, giving the near deafening noise to great pleasure of the crowd. Tomorrow the cars will start testing and the autocross will be driven. On Saturday the big dynamic events will take place, so don’t hesitate and step by the Silverdome in Zoetermeer.

The program for the dynamic events on Saturday the 30th of august is as follows:

09:00-10:00 Skid-pad knock-out
10:40-12:00 Acceleration knock-out
12:00-14:00 Hotdog stand OGD
12:50-12:55 Demo Yamaha
13:00-18:00 Endurance race (22km)
13:00-18:00 Engineering design event
18:00-20:00 Wok dinner @ Silverdome
20:00-21:45 Award Ceremony
22:00-05:00 Party
