Anyone planning on attending Nationals this year should make sure to enter before Aug 21. This is when the first $75 late fee is applied. Also, if you haven’t attended a National Tour or Divisional event there is still the Kansas City National Tour on Aug 30-31 at Arrowhead Stadium. The asphalt is similar to what is at HPT except there isn’t nearly as much sand/marbles.

Erich will be bringing the '08 car but im not sure who his co-driver is going to be.

They are pretty strict on 2 drivers per car at Nationals, im not sure ive ever seen any more then that.

Yeah.....as we speak. I honestly haven't ever took on such a big composites project before, but so far so good. We got a bunch of structural foam donated and I'm cnc'ing all the wing sections now. We layed up a test piece and it seems good. Definitly a big project though, I admire you guys ability to get it done and your car looks great as well. Hopefully if these wings work out they will go on the 2009 car too..

UTA is planning on two cars with four drivers (F08 with Eric and Alejandro and F07 with Kenny and Woods). I really hope more schools can attend. It will be a really good time.

...and it may be the last time for the foreseeable future that Nationals is in Kansas, thanks to the club racing side of the SCCA insisting that their Runoffs be moved away from Heartland Park for 2009. Frown

In case anyone missed it, the September issue of "SportsCar" for the first time picked a predicted winner for FSAE at Nationals. They hinted that a safe bet would be that the championship would be going to someone from UTA, and picked Eric Leichtle to repeat last year's win.....

Little late posting this, I'll be going to represent Mississippi State Motorsports, albeit not in an FSAE car. Running a CS Miata on the same days as the FSAE class, and I look forward to seeing how the cars do at a proper autocross...

so how come you aren't bringing the FSAE car? I guarantee it would be more fun than a Miata.

I can't wait to see this Maryland car with wings. Any sneak peek available?

Did anyone else notice that Michael Royce is registered to drive in GS?

Michael Royce? That will be most interesting if it is indeed the same person...
As for the Mississippi State FSAE car, seems to be that it likes to break before a big event... Or during one, for that matter. So we're shooting to take a car to Nat's at some point in the future. I figured I would go up there for "research" and see what our competition will be like.

UTA Runs the West Course of SCCA Solo Nationals

Here's a short clip of cars 107 and 108 from UTA making a quick lap of the West Course. Aero next year anyone?
