Brown university-
We were behind you guys before you did one of your acceleration runs. We even asked you guys if you were in line for driver #2 and kinda cut in behind you from the driver #1 lineup..

Did you have a transponder attatched to the car?

also interested in the endurance order if anyone knows where it will be posted...

Thanks for the running order.

Issue #2: Skidpad equation breakdown

Declared a wet event this year, many teams had unusually slow times. In fact, many were slower than the special "6.184" (check the rules for the equation). Basically, this yielded a whole 2.5 points for any of those teams.

Did anyone raise this issue?

I agree, not much info. Here's what I gathered from Auburn's team.

A lot of teams missed skidpad. (From above post, including Cornell!) Not sure what all the reasons were. They closed the event while there was a line. Auburn had a mechanical problem that kept them from getting in line sooner. So they missed the whole event. Not blaming this on organizers at all, just a fact. If several teams ran in the wet and got low scores, this could be a pretty big deal!

Besides that, all I heard was that Auburn had a lackluster day because of engine issues. Hope that since they made it in the 'fast' enduro group they can set a good time!

So more updates as I get them. The reason Cornell took the car off site was it wouldn't start. Apparently a lot of E85 cars wouldn't start and the organizers are allowing teams to run off site E85. Intersting after the problems with gas last year as well. Word is the E85 is more like E95.

Additionally the fast skidpad time was around a 5.4!!

Not that anyone cares for us but we may still be in it. We missed skidpad but apparently UWA only got 20pts and we got 63 in business and 87 from cost. Sorry, I don't have a full run down on any events.

Penn State is doing pretty well, they won accel and did well in skidpad.

How's the weather looking for the endurance runs?

So, here's what I've gathered so far:

Design Finals:
ETS, Penn State, RMIT, Waterloo & Western Australia
Semis:
Above plus Oxford Brookes, Wisconsin-Madison, Michigan State, Cornell, Akron, Lawrence Tech, Dartmouth, Auburn, Oklahoma, and Singapore

Skidpad
1. NC State
2. ?
3. ?
4. ?
5. ?

The endurance running order is supposed to be based on the autocross so I'm going to infer that

Autocross
1. Texas A&M
2. Cornell
3. Kansas-Lawrence
4. Western Australia
5. Wisconsin-Madison

Anyone else got any more information?

You're right Judd (vfr750r) nobody cares about you guys or if you are still in it. Just kidding. Bad luck sucks.

Looks like the weather should be much better for the endurance. Should be some good racing. Is anybody taking any video? I would like to see a few autocross laps.

By the way. Go NC State!

Link worked. That's some good stuff! The quality when the car got up to speed was a little sketchy but I can go to bed satisfied now. Thanks!

RMIT progress, sorry for the biased report dont know any other teams that answer their mobiles at midnight detroit time...

7th accel
7th pres
9th autocross
dont know position but 84 points in cost
skid pad wasnt good as it was raining

Apparently going into autocross Wisconsin-Madison was leading points ahead of RMIT

UM-Dearborn:
3rd cost
15th skidpad
4.9 accel in the wet
53 and a cone in the autox

I'm uploading some pics but we have to go. So I might have to cut if off short.

Of the cars I've seen, Lehigh has my vote. Full carbon monocoque, full carbon a-arms, including a flex section at the inboard joints, no bushings or rod ends!

forgive me if im being silly, but i thought there was a rule that says that no engine fluids, i.e. coolant water, is allowed infront og the main roll hoop?

http://evilallianceracing.com/ipw-web/gallery/FSAE06/IMG_0121

although having said tha, i cannot find that rule anywhere!

Congrats to the U of Idaho for making it through the endurance. Good work guys. From whay I hear, they struggled with the engine all week but they never gave up and kept going.

You should all be proud.
