The 2006 Formula SAE comeptition rules state:

Site will open daily at 6:30 am for the teams. The site will officially close at 8:30pm and all teams must be offsite by 9pm. If you must take your car offsite, you will have to line up starting at 7pm and ready to leave by 8pm following an escort out of the event site.

Please have one member of your team sign this petition if you would like the rules to allow for teams to stay on site overnight to be able to work on their cars.

We understand that this rule will not likely be changed for the 2006 competition, but signing this petition can help change the rules for future years.

Here is the Link to the petition:

Any word on cameras being allowed at competition? And I mean real cameras, not sissy point-and-shoots. Wink

Seriously though, I will be basing my attendance at comp on whether or not I can take pictures (since I don't really know anything about cars to be useful) and I'll have to use vacation time and buy a plane ticket.

Since the original document on the SAE site first had two items - venue closing time and cameras -, and now it only concerns venue time, I'm fairly certain that they've solved the camera issue and they will be allowed in any shape or form, as usual.

mmmm..... Garlic.

Yeah, ours is going out for its second drive today. However, we still need to deal with some things on a very basic level. Full race alignment, then a track day on tuesday, chassis dyno tuning wed, finalized bodywork, etc.

Hopefully it all comes together without anything too serious happening.

Edit: Destroyed our diff in the process, but it makes for a cool looking spool. Replacement Torsen being located as we speak.

USP's (brazil) car is already in detroit i think - it's the only race car sized box that's been shipped to our lab this month. I'm just patiently waiting for our brazilian friends to arrive. anyone else in the detroit area hosting an int. school?

If you can't, just get as much caster on as you can drive and some wheel spacers to give you some extra scrub. You might be surprised!!
Good Luck
